for 200-Hour Certification

Prerequisite:

• At least six months of
  previous yoga practice

• Anatomy & Physiology
• Introduction to Sanskrit
• Chanting, Meditation & Mudra
• Finding your Voice
• How to Structure a Class
• How to Develop Warm Ups
• Building on a Theme
• The Business of Yoga
• Presenting Yourself as a Teacher

Program Requirements:

• Techniques: 100 Hours
• Philosophy, Ethics & Lifestyle: 30 Hours
• Teaching Methodology: 25 Hours
• Anatomy & Physiology: 20 Hours
• Other Requirements: 25 Hours

Attendance Requirements:

• One weekend per month for seven months: Friday evening, all day Saturday and Sunday, September through March
• Attendance at no less than 55 asana classes with the Primary Teachers

Tuition & Application

Teacher Track: $3200 ($3000 if paid in full by August 15, 2010)

• Includes seven mandatory weekend programs, unlimited class card for the duration of the program, manual and materials (text books not included).
• Requirements for certification include full participation in all seven weekends, homework, readings, classes, testing, and all contact hour requirements.
• Upon completion of all requirements, students receive 200-hour yoga teacher certification by Birchwood Center, a Yoga Alliance registered school.
  

Deepening Your Practice*: $2500 ($2400 if paid in full by August 15, 2010)

• Includes seven weekend programs, unlimited class card for the duration of the program, manual and materials (text books not included).
• Does not require homework, readings, testing, other contact hour requirements.

*Certification is not granted for completing this program. Students can switch to Teacher Track prior to October 18th, 2010.
