Advanced Level Yoga Teacher Training
for 500-Hour Certification

Going Deeper
The Advanced Level Yoga Teacher Training will expand upon and integrate the information from Level I and incorporate more complex studies of philosophy, asana, pranayama and applied teaching techniques. This training is appropriate for those who are dedicated to teaching and committed to making yoga an integral part of their lives. Experienced students with a minimum one year of substantial yoga practice will be eligible for the 500-hour, ten month program. Teachers with a 200-hour certification from Birchwood Center or another qualified school may join the five month 300-hour program to complete their 500-hour certification.

• Bandhas
• Mudras
• Kriyas
• Sanskrit
• Chanting and Meditation
• Hands-on Assists
• Special Needs: Prenatal, Restorative, Seniors and Kids

500-Hour Training

Prerequisite:

• Experienced students with a minimum one year of substantial yoga practice

Program Requirements:

• Techniques: 150 Hours
• Philosophy, Ethics & Lifestyle: 60 Hours
• Teaching Methodology: 30 Hours
• Anatomy & Physiology: 35 Hours
• Other Requirements: 225 Hours

Attendance Requirements:

• One weekend per month for ten months: Friday evening, all day Saturday and Sunday, September through May
• Attendance at no less than 155 asana classes with the Primary Teachers

300-Hour Training

Prerequisite:

• 200-hour certification from a qualified school

Program Requirements:

• Techniques: 50 Hours
• Philosophy, Ethics & Lifestyle: 30 Hours
• Teaching Methodology: 5 Hours
• Anatomy & Physiology: 15 Hours
• Other Requirements: 200 Hours

Attendance Requirements:

• One weekend per month for five months: Friday evening, all day Saturday and Sunday, January through May
• Attendance at no less than 100 asana classes with the Primary Teachers

Mandatory Training Session Dates:
We are not currently offering a 300- or 500-hour program.
